The second largest party in the USA has been in existence for 254 years.The Republican Party, John McCain's party, known for its conservative policies, was founded in opposition to slavery and at first proposed a modern vision of the United States. Since 1856, the Republican candidates have won 23 of the 38 presidential elections, and 7 of the 10 last. Their first president was the brilliant Abraham Lincoln, who accelerated the abolition of slavery. The 19th Republican to hold that office is George W.
